"Goodbye school"
On the following pages you can find the articles written by the pupils from the classes
9. A and 9. B, who are leaving our school and who wanted to share their thoughts about our
school with you.
The Earth Day
This last Thursday was Earth Day. We had a meeting at 7:20 at a bus stop called
Veselá͘ We went with our class and three students from class 9.C. There were only two girls
in our group. The return ticket cost us 70 CZK. We went by bus and we got off at Zlatník bus
stop. The majority of the way we walked in the woods and there was snow so we were
sliding. We started the trip as one big group, but later we were divided into many small
groups. We had to wait for our teacher by every signpost. When we came out of the forest
we could see many aircrafts in the air. When we reached the top of the hill, we had an hour
break for lunch. I had a cabbage soup with bread and I also ate the snacks from home. The
teacher ordered a lunch as well. After lunch we took pictures of our group near some
stone. Then 9.A climbed a hill. We waited for our teachers and after that we had a snowball
fight. On our way back we went through Malchov and 9.A came with us. We had some
breaks again. When we came down, we had to wait half an hour for the bus to come.
Fortunately a restaurant with wi-fi was open so we waited there. After we arrived back at
station Veselá we could go home.

Volleyball tournament
On Thursday morning we competed in a volleyball tournament against
other schools. In the morning we met at a school of industry in Mistek. We all gathered in
the locker room, changed our clothes and then we went to warm up for the first match
which we, of course, won 2:0. Then all the teams gathered on the playground. The next
round of the tournament begun with a speech from Mrs͘ Górecká and director of the school
of industry. All the teams were photographed for diplomas soon after, but we were still
waiting for a team from a school from Krnov, which was late͘ Mr͘ Vrba and Mrs͘ Dedková
called us and we went to watch other teams play so we would know how to play them and
win. The second game we also won 2 : 0 but it was harder than the first match. We had
some time off so our team discussed tactics. We won the third match after all, even though
we had some problems during the play and we didn't play as well as we hoped. The last
match was the hardest, we played against Bílovec. They have a very good team which
already competed in many competitions. It was not a good match for us even though we
wanted to win. The second set was better, we were winning for a moment but we still lost at
the end. Eventually, we lost by five points. The winners were announced after the last
match. We finished second and we got the cup, but it was not enough for us. The first place
finish belonged to Bílovec͘ We played well in the whole tournament and I hope that we win
the next time.

Court Hearing
We, class 9. A, attended a court trial on Thursday on May 5. We met at 7.30 in front
of the courthouse in Frydek-Mistek. It was a case of drug sales and possible drug production.
Upon entering the building, we walked through a metal detector. Then we went to the
courtroom. Here, the judge informed us about the case. He introduced us to lay judges, state
representatives, lawyers and clerk. The person charged with the crime was Mr͘ Slávyk͘ He
had already been punished for selling drugs several times in the past. This time the court had
to decide if Mr͘ Slávyk sold and made drugs again, this time methamphetamine. They also
needed to decide about how long he would be imprisoned for because the law suggests two
to ten years. We could see several interrogations of the witnesses, especially of those who
bought the drugs. We also saw testimonies of police investigators. We spent about five
hours there and we had several breaks. The judge didn't reach a decision so the case was
adjourned to May 19, 2015. The whole process was very
interesting. I'm curious to find out what the verdict is.

TRAVELLING
Travelling is a way to get from one place to
another. People travel for various reasons: they want to get
to school or to work, they travel for when they go on holiday
and also if they want to enjoy a different culture in faraway
countries. And many people like travelling because it is
exciting. I always pack before I travel. I use my luggage, put in
the clothes, toiletries, make- up, passport, I check my house and I'm ready to travel. People often
travel abroad in summer. Some people like to visit countries where the weather is usually warm, like
Croatia, Florida or Tunis. Some people visit countries well known for its cold climate, for example
Canada, Russia, Poprad or the Alps in Austria. Many people like to explore while on holiday, they can
visit interesting places such as the pyramids in Egypt, Eiffel Tower in Paris or Big Ben in London. Some
men like sports and they like to watch football matches, formula racing, Olympic games and they
sometimes travel to those countries where these events take place.
There are many
means of transport. The
most popular is airplane.
Although it is quite
expensive, it is also
comfortable and fast. One of
the disadvantages is that it's
not good for the
environment. Another is that
there usually aren't airports
in small towns. We have
three airports in Slovakia.
Travelling by car is popular
as well. A lot of people have
cars because it is cheaper and more comfortable than bus and gas stations are on every
corner. We can stop whenever and wherever we want. People don't travel by bus very often
anymore because it is quite uncomfortable, noisy and slow. Other means of transport are for
example train and boat. If we don't have much money, we can try travelling by bike - it is
cheap, it is good for our health and it is also good for the environment.
The majority of people don't like to travel alone. We like to spend our free time with
our family and friends. When I travel with my family we go by car but when I travel with my
friends we go by bus. We check in a hotel as soon as we arrive. We usually pay for half board
because we like to travel during the day and eat outside of the hotel we are staying in.
We like to lay on a beach, climb mountains, dance in
local clubs, buy souvenirs in shops, we like to play sports
with our friends and we only sleep a little. I don't like to
travel alone because them I am sad and lonely and I don't
enjoy the trip at all.
In the past people travelled on horses, in
carriages and, of course, on foot. Then they used trains,
steam cars and steam boats. Nowadays travelling is very
popular and common and sometimes even necessary. Travelling today is very fast and we
can expect that in the future it will be even faster and also safer.
We don´t need visa or passport to travel to countries in the EU. But we need to have our ID,
some money and we should know at least one foreign language for example English or
German. This is also the main reason why many people learn languages - we need them
when travelling abroad.

PRAGUE Great City to visit
Prague is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic and the 15th largest city in
the European Union. It is located slightly north of the center of Bohemia on the Vltava river,
within the Central Region, which is the administrative center, but as a separate region is not
part of it. It's home to a large number of state institutions and many other organizations and
companies. Prague is associated with the president, parliament, government, central
government authorities and one of the two high courts. Moreover, Prague is the
headquarters of many other authorities, both central as well as local government units.
There are also the headquarters of most political parties and the headquarters of almost all
churches, religious and other associations with nationwide jurisdiction registered in the
Czech Republic.
HISTORY
The territory of today's Prague housed in prehistoric times many different tribes - the latest
findings in Křeslice local settlement date back to seven thousand years ago (in terms of
culture with linear - formerly volute - ceramics). It was founded on
the site of Celtic Envy settlement. The area where Prague now
stands is mentioned in Ptolemy's map (2nd century) as a Germanic
town called "Casurgis". During the migration of peoples in the 6th
century, the Slavs began to colonize Prague.
CULTURE
Prague is the cultural capital of the Czech Republic and also the European Capital of Culture
2000. There are tens of museums, galleries, theatres, cinemas and various cultural
institutions. National Gallery in Prague manages the largest collection of art in the country.
Fair Palace houses a permanent exhibition where we can find works of international artists
such as Mucha, Picasso, Monet or Van Gogh.
SHIPPING
Prague is the main transport hub in the Czech Republic and it is also a major crossroad in
Central Europe. It has an extensive transport infrastructure. Prague railway junction is the
centre of long-distance and suburban passenger traffic. Prague large freight yards are in
decline, but Uhříněves created the largest container
transhipment point in Central Europe. Vaclav Havel
airport (formerly known as Prague-Ruzyně airport) is
the city's main airport.

•Because the exclusion of animal products
prevents heart diseases.
•Because we should not lie to your children about
the origin of the meat we eat (children are like
animals, and telling them fairy tales about animals .. So tell them the tale of a
slaughterhouse.)
•Because meat is filthy and bloody͘
•Because only a stupid man kills an animal ... and even stupider eats it.( If you eat meat, you
pay for something so cruel that if it were done to a dog or a cat, the person would be
immediately sentenced to prison)
•Because there is a little bit of faeces in every chicken package (the US Department of
farming found out and published in a study that 98%
of carcasses are infected by faeces.)

Ratchet and Clank:Crack in Time
This is me, describing my favorite game: Ratchet and Clank:Crack in Time I.
Story: It´s brilliant͘ Clank has been abducted by the Zoni (super clever robots that protect
universe) and is being held in prison at an unknown location. Dr. Nefarious (one of the most
cleverly written villains ever) has been summoned by the Zoni to repair Clank but is more
interested in discovering how to access something called the 'Orvus Chamber', which the
Zoni are determined to keep him out of. Deciding to end his "partnership" with the Zoni,
Nefarious releases a hovering robot named the Hypersonic Brainwave Scrambler that causes
the Zoni to flee and it damages the room. During the ensuing blackout, Clank reactivates and
attempts to escape, but is caught by Nefarious and his butler Lawrence who on Nefarious'
order immobilizes Clank with an electric orb. Nefarious comes up with a more convenient
plan to get inside the Orvus chamber and reassures Lawrence that "We have all the time in
the Universe...". Meanwhile in Ratchet's side of the story, he and Captain Qwark (big goofy
hero/coward) explore the Breegus System for information on Clank's whereabouts. Aphelion
(ratchet´s ship) is shot down on Planet Quantos by a time anomaly and crash lands on the
planet. Ratchet and Qwark survive the crash and are amazed to see anomalies around the
crash site. nd that´s only the beginning.
Gameplay: Great. Camera is smooth yet sticks on enemies really well in the aiming mode.
Movement is great again, smooth and quick. Graphic is epic, some of the best I've ever seen.
Everything is great.
